The Apache Tear, is a variety of Obsidian, Is Volcanic glass and is usually found in a vitreous form of of black, black/clear, black/smokey/clear, black/mahogany and occasionally black/violet or black/green. The shape is somewhat spherical with conchoidal markings. The Apache Tear has been traditionally considered to be one of the tears of Native American women, mourning for the warriors driven off a cliff by the cavalry. Apache tear is a form of black obsidian but it is much gentler in its effect. It still brings up negativity but does so slowly so that it can be transmuted. An Apache Tear is excellent for absorbing negative energy and for protecting the aura. It grounds and cleanses the earth Chakra.
